Vastralankara Seva (Melchat Vastram Seva) Tirumala
Vastralankara Seva in Tirumala is also called as Melchat Vastram Seva. Both the sevas are same. This one of the costliest seva and also one of most sought seva by the VIP’s. This seva will be participated mostly by VIPs and people who have high recommendation letters.
This paid seva also known as Melchat Vastram is conducted immediately after conducting Abhishekam on Fridays. The Lordwill be adorned with a saree bought and handed over by devotees participating in that seva. The archakas will apply Namam, adorn saree and a few jewels to the deity of Venkateswara and no devotee is allowed to watch this. The devotees participating in Abhishekam and Vastralankarana Seva are allowed for Abhisheka-anantara darshanam with a new saree after offering naivedyam to the Lord.
What is Vastralankara Seva (Melchat Vastram Seva)
The Vastralankara Seva/ Melchat Vastram Seva is performed on Fridays in Tirumala as a weekly special seva . This seva is performed immediaitely after the completion of the Abhisheka Seva. In this seva, the devotees are given Silver vessels to carry around the temple and reach the inner santum and give back the vessels. This procession is considered as the seva. After this procession, the devotees will allowed to till the first door of the temple and will made to sit and view Lord and harathi offered to him.
Ticket Cost of the Vastralankara Seva (Melchat Vastram Seva) Tirumala
The cost of this seva is Rs. 12, 500/- for one ticket and two persons will be allowed per ticket for this seva.
Process of Vastralankara Seva
First for this seva, Abhishekam is performed to the Moola Virat will Milk, Water, Camphor, Civet oil, Turmeric, Chandanam and Kasturi. After abhishekam, the Lord will be dressed with Pattu Pitambaram and a namam will be decorated with Paccha Karpuram. This whole process is performed in Private. After the abhishekam, the pilgrims who has booked for the Melchat vastram seva will be allowed to sit and watch the Harathi after the Steel vessel procession.
How to Book Tickets for Vastralankara Seva
Current Booking (Lucky Dip) for Vastralankara Seva
This seva is not available to book online. The only way to book this seva is through Current Booking from the CRO Office i.e if a pilgrim is present in Tirumala on Thursday, he can book for the seva next day at the CRO office throught the lucky dip procedure. But it will be very difficult to get the ticket for this seva.
Recommendation letters Procedure
The other mode of getting the tickets for this seva is through the Recommendation letters. High level recommendation letters will be considered for this seva. After getting the recommendation letter one can reach the JEO office and can follow the procedure of Booking.
If the Booking is confirmed, the pilgrims will be get an SMS and the pilgrims can avail the tickets from MBC 14 by showing the SMS and ID card. But this procedure is only if one have recommendation letter.
Process of attending the Vastralankara Seva Reporting time
Once ticket is obtained. Pilgrims will be allowed in to temple from VQC 1 rom 3.00 AM. Once the pilgrims reaches the inner sanctum near parakamani, the archakas will read the names of devotees to come forward and perform the steel vessel procession and darshan.
Prasadam for Vastralankara Seva
As a prasadam for this seva A dupatta, a blouse piece. 2 big laddus and 2 vadas and the chandanam which is kept at the feet of the Lord will be provided to the devotees.
