  • This practice, known as Sashti Viratham, is known to boost vitality. People who are fasting should avoid drinking salt water, lemon juice, Nartam fruit juice, and young water because of the sodium content in these beverages.
  • One should follow fasting beginning on the day of Sashti Viratham and continuing until the day of Surasamharam by eating very simple vegetarian meals and thinking about Muruga.
