Tirumala Temple Closed in August for 9 Days: Asta Bandhana Balalaya Maha Samprokshanam

Due to upcoming festival of Asta Bandhana Balalaya Maha Samprokshanam, which occurs every 12 years TTD has decided to close the temple from 11 August 2018, Saturday 06.00 AM to 17 August 2018, Friday. Due to this, the temple Darshan will be effected. However, pilgrims will not be allowed to take part in this festival, as it will be conducted in the inner sanctum, which includes some repairs to the pedestal on which Lord Sri Venkateshwara Stands.

However, the Darshan is completely blocked, and only temple priests will be allowed for Darshan each day. Several rituals, poojas, renovation and other events will take place during these days and actually, the entire process actually will be for 48 days. But its effect on pilgrim Darshan will be from August 11 to 17.  The actual day on which the event is done is  in Tula Lagnam between 10:16 am and 12 noon on August 16.

Keeping in this mind, pilgrims are requested to plan their visit accordingly. The timings of Dashan are not clear and during the time in which the work is carried out, pilgrims will be allowed to Darshan. TTD has cancelled all Online Bookings of Arjiha Sevas, Special Darshanas and also Break Darshan.  Thomala and Archana Sevas restricted only to Udayasthamana Seva devotees on August 11 and 12. VIP break Darshan restricted to only protocol VIPs on August 11 and 12. No break darshan from August 13 to 16.

It is highly suggested to Pilgrims, not plan their visit from 11 to 17 August 2018 to Tirumala.
