Grahan which is also called the Eclipse is an occurrence that happens in space. The pilgrims will be following the Grahan for astrology and also for spiritual purposes. Otherwise, the eclipses are the normal happenings in the space. Every year, there are a number of eclipses that happen in the country. There are two types of eclipses one is the solar eclipse which is related to the Sun and the Lunar Eclipse which is related to the moon. There is no certain number of eclipses that happen in space. There are some years, where the eclipses even wont happen. The number of eclipses depends on the timings and also the rotation of the Earth, Sun and Moon. For the year 2024, there are some eclipses which is stated as below. The pilgrims will be following many rules on the eclipse days. The temple also will be closed on these days.

2024 Grahan List In India Dates Timings Visibility Eclipses Days

  • 25 March 2024: Lunar Eclipse starts at 06.30 PM
  • 18 September 2023: The Lunar Eclipse starts at 07.03 PM
  • 08 April 2024: Solar Eclipse starts at 12.30 PM
  • 02 October 2024: Solar Eclipse starts at 09.00 AM
  • Some eclipses are visible for the pilgrims from India and some eclipses are not visible for the pilgrims. The pilgrims will be following all the eclipse rules, even if the eclipses are not visible in the country.
  • The temples will be closed during all the eclipse days and will be reopened to the pilgrims only after the cleansing. The pilgrims also will be doing the cleansing in home after the eclipse.
  • The timings of the eclipse depend on the location of the pilgrims. The location of visibility changes as per the rotation of the earth. So in some countries, the eclipses are visible and in some countries, they are not visible.
