Tirumala Temple Remains Closed on January 31

On the occasion of Lunar Eclipse, which is occurring on January 31, the Tirumala temple is closed for a longest time of 10 hours. All darshans and other related sevas in this time will be stopped closed. The temple will be closed from 11 AM to 09.30 PM on January 31st which is a Wednesday. Though, the actual eclipse starts from 5.18 PM and will continue to 08.41 PM on this day, as per the traditions, the temple remains closed from the early hours and opens once the eclipse get completed.
As per the tradition, the temple doors closed before 6 hours before any eclipse start time. Following this, the close and open timings are decided. The temple reopens after finishing suddhi, punyahavachanam and other cleansing rituals, at 09.30 PM and darshan for all pilgrims waiting for that day will be allowed at 10.30 PM to 12.00 AM in the midnight.
Following total lunar eclipse on January 31, the hill shrine of Tirumala will be closed from 11 am till 9:30 pm on that day.
TTD has cancelled Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjita Brahmotsavam, Vasantotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara Seva on January 31 following lunar eclipse.
