Even though the actual Chithirai festival starts before 10 days of the Madurai Meenakshi Thirukalyanam. This kalayanam is conducted in private for past two years due to COVID. And this year, the pilgrims are expecting the festival to be conducted in public and the pilgrims to be allowed for the Darshan of the Lord on this day. But the guidelines for the festival is not yet released and will be released soon before the happening of the festival.

- Online Booking will be mostly introduced for the Darshan so that a limited number of pilgrims can be allowed per day for the Darshan

- Once the online booking starts the pilgrims can book for the Darshan from the Madurai Meenakshi temple official website.
- But the Guidelines are not yet released for the Madurai Meenakshi Thirukalyanam 2022 and will be released soon. But pilgrims can expect huge crowd on this day.
- Mostly all the Darshan types will be stopped for normal pilgrims.
