  • On the Mahalaya Amavasya day, one male member of the family will be doing the pooja for the ancestors. So he will take a bath in the morning and will be doing the pooja. Some people will go to the temple where the Mahalaya Amavasya pooja is held and will be participating in the pooja.
  • Most of the pilgrims will be doing the pooja at home. The priest will come home for the pooja and will do the pooja in the provided tithi. After the Mahalaya Amavasya pooja is complete, the family members will be offering clothes and also prasadam for the ancestors and harathi will be offered.
