Tiruppavada Seva Procedure

Tiruppavada Seva in Tirumala is an weekly seva performed to Lord Sri Venkateswara. The Seva is performed on Thursday early morning which starts at 06.15 AM. This seva is very unique and powerful. Before this seva is performed, all the ornaments will be removed on the idol and will be decorated with only Dhothi and Uttareeyam. The Tirunaamam and Ksaturi of Lord will be peeled off and a small namam will decorated. Due to this unique decoration the pilgrims can see the Lord in Netra Darshan, where the pilgrims can see the eyes of Lord, which is not visible on other days.

After performing this seva, Thiruppavada Seva is performed as arjitha Seva in the Mantapam in front of the Bangaru Vakili and Annakutotsavam performed.  A large rectangular tub – like golden vessel is placed in the Mantapam and a huge quantity of “Pulihora”, along with other sweet preparations such as payasam, laddu, jilebi, thenthola, appam etc and other delicacies are deposited thereon with coconuts, flowers, sandal paste, kumkum, deepam is offered as naivedya to the Lord.

As the namam is peeled off, iit is said that mortals will not be able to tolerate the powerful gaze of the Lord and hence is made to fall on the tamarind rice and this reducing the effect of powerful gaze of the Lord. This seva is called as Tiruppavada Seva. After tthis seva, Poolangi Seva is performed.

How to Book Tickets for Tiruppavada Seva

Current Booking (Lucky Dip) for Tiruppavada Seva

This seva is not available to book online. The only way to book this seva is through Current Booking from the CRO Office i.e if a pilgrim is present in Tirumala on Thursday, he can book for the seva next day at the CRO office throught the lucky dip procedure. But it will be very difficult to get the ticket for this seva.

Recommendation letters Procedure

The other mode of getting the tickets for this seva is through the Recommendation letters. High level recommendation letters will be considered for this seva. After getting the recommendation letter one can reach the JEO office and can follow the procedure of Booking.

If the Booking is confirmed, the pilgrims will be get an SMS and the pilgrims can avail the tickets from MBC 14 by showing the SMS and ID card. But this procedure is only if one have recommendation letter.

Process of attending the Tiruppavada Seva Reporting time

Once ticket is obtained. Pilgrims will be allowed in to temple from VQC 1 from 5.00 AM and the pilgrims are allowed to attend the Tiruppavada Seva after verification of the Tickets.
