Corrections Policy

Editor Desk May 9, 2026 3 min read

Tirumala Tirupati Online is committed to factual accuracy. When we publish an error, we correct it transparently. This policy explains how we handle corrections and what you can expect when you report one.

What Counts as an Error

For the purposes of this policy, an “error” is any factual statement on this site that is:

  • Demonstrably untrue (e.g. a wrong price, date, phone number, or place name)
  • Materially out of date (e.g. a timing that has changed since publication)
  • Misleading in context (e.g. a quote stripped of context that changes its meaning)
  • A grammatical, spelling, or typographical error that affects meaning

Differences of opinion, religious interpretation, or perspective are not corrections in the editorial sense, though we welcome thoughtful feedback.

How to Report an Error

Email us at admin@tirumalatirupationline.com with:

  1. The exact article URL where the error appears
  2. The specific text that is incorrect (paste a quote so we can locate it precisely)
  3. What the correct information is, in your view
  4. A verifiable source if you have one (a TTD page, a screenshot, an official press release, etc.)

You can also use our Contact form with the subject “Correction”.

Our Response

  • We acknowledge correction requests within 2 business days.
  • If the correction is verified, we update the article within 5 business days.
  • We do not silently re-write articles to hide errors. Material corrections are noted in a visible “Update” line at the top of the article when the change affects the meaning.
  • We do not retroactively delete published articles to make errors disappear; a 410-Gone is only used when an article’s entire premise has been invalidated by new information.

Levels of Correction

We use three levels:

  1. Minor correction. Typo, broken link, formatting issue. Fixed silently. The article’s “Last updated” date is bumped.
  2. Standard correction. A factual claim was wrong; we fix it and add a brief “Correction (DD MMM YYYY): the article previously stated … The correct figure is …” line at the top.
  3. Major correction. A claim that materially misled readers; we fix it, add a prominent correction notice, and where applicable, post a brief explanation on our social channels.

Our Standing Promises

  • We will never retaliate against a reader who reports an error in good faith.
  • We will never charge for handling a correction.
  • We will not blame readers for corrections we make — the byline takes responsibility.
  • If we are unable to verify a reported error, we’ll explain that to you and explain what would change our mind.

If You’re Not Satisfied

If you reported an error and are not satisfied with our response, escalate to our Founding Editor by emailing the same address with the subject “Editor Escalation”. The Founding Editor personally reviews all escalations.
