This Editorial Policy explains how Tirumala Tirupati Online researches, writes, edits, fact-checks, updates, and corrects the content you read on this site. We publish this policy publicly so pilgrims, partners, and search engines can verify our editorial standards.
Who We Are
Tirumala Tirupati Online (tirumalatirupationline.com) is an independent informational website serving Tirumala pilgrims since 2016. We are not affiliated with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), Andhra Pradesh state government, or any temple administration. All editorial decisions are made independently of advertisers, sponsors, and external organizations.
Our Editorial Mission
We exist to make Tirumala pilgrimage planning easier — specifically:
- Daily darshan timing, crowd, and queue updates
- Step-by-step seva booking guides
- Accommodation booking guides for TTD guest houses, cottages, and dormitories
- Festival calendars, vahanam schedules, and ritual explanations
- Travel advisories, scam alerts, and safety information for pilgrims
How Articles Are Researched
Every article on this site is researched using a combination of these primary sources, in this order of priority:
- Official TTD sources: the TTD website (tirupatibalaji.ap.gov.in), TTD press releases, official TTD social channels (TTD News on YouTube, official Facebook), SVBC TV broadcasts.
- Government and civic sources: Andhra Pradesh state government notifications, APSRTC bus schedules, Indian Railways for train timings.
- Verified primary observation: on-site visits to Tirumala by our editorial team, photographs and videos taken by us, conversations with TTD staff and long-time pilgrims.
- Reputable secondary sources: established news outlets (The Hindu, Times of India, Andhra Jyothy, Eenadu) for news events; Wikipedia and academic sources for historical context only (never as a primary source).
How Articles Are Written
- Author bylines: every article is attributed to a named author whose bio and credentials are publicly listed.
- Drafting: articles are drafted with the user’s pilgrimage need in mind — what does a person planning a Tirumala trip actually need to know? We write to answer that need clearly, not to maximize length.
- Sources cited: claims about TTD policy, prices, timings, and procedures are linked to or attributed to official TTD sources whenever possible.
- No AI-only content: we do not publish articles that are entirely AI-generated. AI tools may be used for research assistance, draft outlining, or grammar checking, but every published article is reviewed and approved by a human editor with relevant subject knowledge.
How Articles Are Fact-Checked
Before publication, every article goes through these checks:
- Cross-verification of claims against at least one primary source
- Verification of all dates, prices, and phone numbers against the most recent official information
- Review of all linked URLs to ensure they resolve and point to legitimate sources
- Final review by our Founding Editor (Shiva Venkateswara) for clarity, accuracy, and editorial fit
How Articles Are Updated
Tirumala timings, prices, and procedures change frequently. We:
- Update every published article at least once every 90 days, even if no major change has occurred, to verify the information is current.
- Update time-sensitive articles (darshan timings, festival schedules, room booking quotas) within 48 hours of any official TTD change.
- Display the “Last updated” date prominently at the top of every article.
- Note material changes in a brief update log at the top of the article when the change is significant.
Editorial Independence from Advertisers
We display Google AdSense advertising across the site to support our work. Advertisers do not influence our editorial content. Specifically:
- Editorial staff have no contact with advertisers about article content.
- We do not sell links, sponsored content masquerading as editorial, or favorable coverage.
- We do not accept payment to favorably mention or omit any service, person, or organization.
- If an article ever contains a paid placement (which is currently none), it will be clearly labelled “Sponsored” or “Paid Partnership”.
What We Do Not Cover
We do not cover topics outside our editorial scope — specifically:
- Political news (except where it directly affects pilgrim access or temple operations)
- Personal opinion columns or religious sermons
- Astrological predictions presented as fact
- Medical, legal, or financial advice
