Kedara Gowri Vratham occurs on the day when Moon is in conjunction with Krittika Nakshatra. It has been a tradition since ancient times to worship Kedareshwar by placing banyan branches as arches, banyan fruits as bears and banyan leaves in the house where Kedareshwara Nomu is recited on this day.

Both men and women meditate on Lord Shiva on this day, following a strict fast. Nomlu can see. Devotees have immense faith that those who see this name will not lack Ashtaiswaryas and Annavasthas. With pure minds they worship with clean water, cow milk, sugarcane, coconuts, betel leaves and flowers and perform camphor nirajanam. After that, they take Nakshatradarshan and report to Swami as Prasad.

The Kedara Gowri Vratham for the year 2022 is on the 04th of October 2022.

The Puja Muhurat Timings start in Morning at 6 AM

  • On this day, one should take a clean bath, with a pure mind, wear a thora with auspicious thread on the hand, perform puja with Shodashopachara duties and fast on that day.
  • The next day, the Brahmins should be fed and then the food should be taken. Kedareshwar should be worshipped with pujakrama from the day of starting the fast till Amavasya. And after pouring Dhanyarashi, from that Purnakumbha, two times around the Sutra, cover it with a silk cloth, put navaratnams or gold and worship with sandalwood flowers.
  • Twenty-one brahmins should be invited to do the washed their feet, sat them down, worshipped them with incense, lamp, sandalwood flowers, bhaksya-bhojya, offerings, kadalipjala and panasa, and tambulakshina and satisfied them. Lord Shiva will bless those who perform the fast in this way and make them happy.
  • With this the Kedara Gowri Vratham will be completed.
