Chamundeshwari Temple is situated on Chamundeshwari Hill at a distance of 13 km from Mysore Palace in Mysore, Mysore district of Karnataka state.   • The shrine is believed to have been built by the Hoysala rulers in the 12th century. The temple gopuram was probably built by the Vijayanagara rulers in the 17th century.
  • Dussehra celebrations are held in and around the Chamundeshwari temple with grandeur. On the seventh day of Navratri, all the ornaments are brought to Chamundi Devi temple. For 12 days from that night, all the ornaments are decorated to the Goddess.
