  • According to astrology, Soma Pradosha Vrat is worshipped from 45 minutes before sunset to 45 minutes after sunset. This period is called the Pradosha period. In this, Lord Shiva is worshipped with devotion. Take a bath early in the morning and wear clean clothes.
  • Then start worshipping Lord Shiva with utmost devotion. Take pure honey in a copper vessel and anoint it to Shivalinga. After that, water ablution should be done. Chant Om Namah Shivaya or Sarva Siddhi Pradaye Namah 108 times during worship
  • After the story of Pradosha Vrata, Shiva Chalisa should be recited. Finally, it is said that it is very good if one gives aarti to Lord Parameshwar and completes the puja.
  • The recitation of Mahamrityunjaya mantra on this day is also very beneficial. It is said that by doing this, one gets the grace of Lord Shiva, gets rid of financial difficulties and family problems, and gets peace of mind.
  • On Pradosha day, get ready early in the morning and go to the Shiva Temple for abhishekam in the evening. Shivalinga is anointed with ghee, milk, honey, curd, sugar, Ganga water etc. chanting ‘Om Namah Shivaya’.
  • Chant Mahamrityunjaya mantra, recite Shiva Chalisa and other mantras. End the pooja by offering aarti.
  • Take bath and wear clean white clothes (or amber) and wear vibhuti and rudraksha beads on different parts of the body and chant the auspicious Panchakshari mantra ‘O Nama Shivaya.’
  • Chant as much as you can. Methodically prepared Vibhuti and worn Rudrakshamalas have a positive effect on our mental bodies.
  • In this way, one should immerse himself in Shiva meditation throughout the day, take bath at sunset, finish the puja at home and visit the Shiva temple. But you should not forget that you should remain in devotional practice throughout the day.
  • Selfless devotion is what makes God’s compassionate vision shine upon you. So while going to the temple, even after going, one should keep chanting Shiva mantra in mind.
