The date of the Karthigai Deepam is on Tuesday, 6 December 2022
- The Karthika deepam however is a 10 days festival in the Tiruvannamalai temples starting with the deepam day. On the Karthika deepam day which falls on the day of the Karthika Pournami, the temple authorities will be lighting a lamp on the top of the aruncahcalam temple
- The pilgrims on this day will be hiking around the mountain. Also, the pilgrims on this day will be mostly going on top to the mountain as well. The pilgrims will be trekking to the top of the mountain and will be offering the ghee and oil for the lamp on the day.
- On the Karthikia deepam day the temple will be lighting the lamp approximately at 7 PM which will be visible from very far as well. When the lamp is lit on the top of the mountain at the same time, the harathi also will be offered for the lord
