The month of Margashira is one that Lord Vishnu holds in very high regard. The Dhanurmasam festival will begin about midway through this month. During the month of Dhanurmasam, Lord Godadevi offered adoration to Lord Sri Hari, who had previously been incarnated as Lord Ranganath. As a result, Lord Ranganath became Lord Godadevi’s husband.

Godadevi, by continually showering Srimannarayana with Pasuram praise, was the source of his joy. Also known as Vaikunta Ekadasi, Mukkoti Ekadashi, and Putrada Ekadashi, the Shukshapaksha Ekadashi that occurs during the month of Pushya is one of the Ekadashi dates. Devotees have a strong desire to view Srimannarayan at the northern entrance on this particular day. Everything is made holy during the twenty-four Ekadash days that are spread throughout the year. On the other hand, these do not contain any Vaikunta Ekadasi. Because other Ekadas are computed in accordance with Chandramanam, this one, in contrast, is computed in accordance with Solarmanam. Mukkoti Ekadashi is the name given to the day that occurs after Dhanurmasa Shuddha Ekadashi but before the Sun moves to Uttarayana.
