Kartika Purnima is a festival which occurs in the month of November or December every year. The pilgrims will be celebrating this festival for the Lord Shiva mostly. Kartika Purnima as it occurs in the month of the Karthika derives its name from the month. The pilgrims will do a special pooja for the Lord Shiva during this Kartika Purnima day. The pilgrims also will be visiting the temples of the Lord Shiva. Some pilgrims will be celebrating the Kartika Purnima also known as the Karthika Diwali. The pilgrims celebrate this festival equal to normal Deepavali. The date and timings of the Kartika Purnima is as above.
