Mandala pooja means the pilgrims will be taking up the Ayyappa Mala and will be in the pooja for a time span of the Mandalam days hence the name. Mandalam means the 60 days. The pilgrims who wanted to take up the Mandala Pooja for the Sabarimala had to follow all the restrictions and also the details of the Sabarimala Mandala pooja. The Sabarimala Mandala pooja will be done for the Lord on the below dates only. Once the Mandala Pooja is completed, the Ayyappa Swami pilgrims will be going to the Sabarimala temple and will offer the Mala to the Lord.

  • The pilgrims will start taking up the Sabarimala Mala on 17 November 2023. Even through the Mandala pooja is for 60 days the deeksha and the Mala will be taken for 41 days only.
  • The pilgrims can go to the Sabarimala Temple on the last of the Mala and can offer the Mala at the temple. The Sabarimala Mandala Pooja will be performed in the temple on the last day of the Mandala pooja.
  • The pilgrims who take up the Ayyappa Deeksha Mala have to follow all the rules and regulations as per the Mala. The pilgrims should take up the Mala as per the procedure of the temple.
  • The Sabarimala temple will be making all the arrangements for the pilgrims who want to offer the Mala at the temple. The pilgrims can any day to offer the Mala at the temple before the Mandala Pooja date.
