  • On the day of Ahoi Ashtami, one should first take a bath early in the morning and take a vow of worship. After this, keep a Nirjala fast for the whole day, chant Bhajan, Kirtan and Mantra.
  • In the evening, before the Puja Muhurta, all kinds of worship materials should be collected and worship should be started. After cleaning the place of worship, put a picture of Ahoi Mata on the wall.
  • After this, install the idol of Mata Parvati and Lord Ganesha. Worship the picture of Ahoi Mata with roli, rice, flowers and Gangajal. After the worship, the mothers listen to the aarti and story of Ahoi Mata and finally break the fast by getting the blessings of their elders.
  • Chanting 11 rounds of ‘Om Parvatipriyanandanay Namah’ for 45 days from Ahoi Ashtami gives auspicious results. It is believed that the wishes of those who wish to have children also get fulfilled.
  • All festivals have special significance in Hinduism, one of them is Ahoi Ashtami. Mothers observe the fast of Ahoi Ashtami for the long life and prosperity of their children. It is said that Diwali also starts from this day, this fast is kept four days after Karva Chauth. On this day, women observe fast for the whole day and pray for the long life of their children. Ahoi Ashtami is celebrated every year on the Ashtami date of the Krishna Paksha of Kartik month.
