The temple dates back 2000 years and every year many tourists will be visiting the place. Rather than visiting the Gudimallam temple for spiritual and devotional purposes, the temple is very rich in Historical wonders.

Even though the idol inside the Gudimallam temple is not eligible for pooja and abhishekam, very recently local people have started pooja in the temple. The Archeological department however is allowing the pooja in the temple as of now. 10 years, there was no pooja conducted in the temple and the temple used to be an archaeological site only.
