The Rule Behind Every TTD Quota Release
TTD works to a fixed rhythm. Bookings for a travel month open on the 18th of the month about three months before it, not in the month you travel. If you want to be at Tirumala in December, your booking work happens in September.
That single fact explains almost every “sold out” complaint. By the time a first-time visitor thinks about booking, the quota has been open and closed for weeks. Seasoned pilgrims set a reminder for the 18th and treat it as the real trip date.
The window is not a single moment either. It runs across roughly seven to nine days, and each category of ticket has its own date and its own hour. Missing the 10:00 AM slot for one category does not cost you the others, but it does cost you that one.

What Opens on Which Day Inside a Release Window
Within the window, TTD staggers the categories so the portal is not hit by everything at once. The order below has held across recent cycles. Treat the day numbers as the typical shape, and confirm the exact dates for your cycle on the official portal.

The last two rows matter most. The ₹300 Special Entry Darshan and the room quota are the two things nearly every pilgrim wants, they are always released last, and they are gone fastest. If you can only be at your screen once during the whole window, be there on the final day.
The Electronic Dip Is Not First Come, First Served
The four inner-sanctum Arjitha Sevas are allotted by a computerised random draw, not by speed. Registration is free and opens on the 18th at 10:00 AM, closes on the 20th at 10:00 AM, and the result appears the same afternoon. Selected devotees pay online, typically by noon on the 22nd.
This is worth understanding because it changes your strategy completely. How to Be Ready Before the Window Opens
Almost everything that costs people a booking is preparation, not luck. Do this in the days before the 18th:
- Create and verify your TTD portal account well ahead. Account creation on the morning of a release, with OTPs delayed by portal load, is the single most common way to miss a slot.
- Have every devotee’s ID details typed out and saved. Aadhaar numbers and names must match exactly. Copying from a saved note is far faster than reading them off a card under pressure.
- Decide your dates and your fallback dates first. If your first choice is gone, hesitating to pick a second costs you the second as well.
- Be logged in before the hour, not at the hour. Log in ten minutes early and sit on the booking page.
- Keep the payment method ready and funded. Bookings expire if payment is not completed inside the session.
When the Quota Is Already Sold Out
A closed window is not the end of a trip. Tirumala keeps several routes open that do not depend on the monthly online quota at all:

- Divya Darshan tokens are issued free to pilgrims who walk up the Alipiri or Srivari Mettu footpaths.
- Cancellation re-releases put unpaid and cancelled slots back on the portal through the day. Checking the room availability chart repeatedly is genuinely worth doing.
- Offline accommodation at the Central Reception Office in Tirumala is allotted on the day, subject to availability.
What none of these require is an agent. TTD releases every quota on its own portal only, and no third party has privileged access to it.
