Bhogi Pandigai is one of the most important festivals which is celebrated by the pilgrims in the month of January. Normally, this festival si considered as the first festival after the New year. The Bhogi Pandigai is the first day of the Pongal festival which is an annual festival. The pilgrims will be doing the Bhogi Pandigai at home only mostly. However, some pilgrims will be going to the temple on the Bhogi Pandigai date. The pilgrims will mostly be doing the Bhogi Pandigai early in the morning and will be celebrating the rest of the day of the pooja with food only. The Pongal day is the main day for the pilgrims.   • For the year 2024, the Bhogi Pandigai festival is on 14 January 2024, Sunday. The timings of the Bhogi Pandigai will be mostly in early in the morning. The timings of the Bhogi Pandigai will be celebrated in between 02.00 AM and 05.00 AM.
  • Some pilgrims will be doing the Bhogi Pandigai even more early. But these timings are the best timings for the Bhogi Pandigai. The pilgrims can do the Bhogi Pandigai with the Bhogi Fire.
  • The Bhogi fire is lit by the all waste in the home which is retrieved after cleaning the house. The house cleaning process before the Bhogi Pandigai is one of the important activities during the festival.
  • After the Bhogi fire is completed, the pilgrims will be taking the bath and will be doing the pooja at home. After the pooja is completed, the pilgrims will be mostly enjoying the day with the food.
