Chandragiri Fort is one of the must-visit places in Tirupati. This fort is visited by the pilgrims who come to Tirumala. The Chandragiri Fort lies about 15 km from the town of Tirupati. The pilgrims can go towards the Bangalore highway and can visit the Chandragiri Fort on the way itself. The Chandragiri Fort has 300 hundred years of history and is a must-visit place for the historical people. The Chandragiri Fort is well preserved and now is under the control of the Archeological Department of India

The fort can be visited in the open times of the day. In the evenings, there will be a light show organised in the show. This light show in the Chandragiri Fort is a must-visit in Tirupati. The light show will show the history of Chandragiri from the starting to ending with an amazing voice-over. The light show will last for 3o minutes. Recently, after the COVID the light shows are cancelled and not yet resumed. There are many pilgrims who come to the fort expecting the light show. But it is not yet resumed

It is highly suggested to call the Chandragiri Fort authorities before going for the Light show for confirmation. However, the Chandragiri Fort  is open normally for the visit of the pilgrims daily

  • The Chandragiri Fort will be open for the pilgrims from 9:00 am -5:00 pm daily. Friday is a holiday for the Fort
  • The entry fee for the for is Rs. 20. Children under 15 years of age will be allowed for Free. For Foreign nationals, the price is Rs. 205
  • There will be separate charges for the Cameras and Video Cameras to carry inside the fort
  • The Telugu Light show will be from 7:00 pm – 7:45 pm daily except Friday
  • The English Light show will be from 6:30 pm – 7:15 pm daily except Friday
  • If the pilgrims want to watch the light show, it is highly suggested to visit before 5 PM. So that the pilgrims can also visit the fort.
