Uttarayana Punya Kalam is the time in which the pilgrims will be doing the Tharpanam for their ancestors. This Uttarayana Punya Kalam occurs on the day of the Uttarayana. This day for the Uttarayana comes once a year. The Uttarayana is also celebrated as the Sankranti, Lohri and Pongal in many states. The Uttarayana Punaya Kalam is very important for the people who workshop their elders on this day. Mostly the pooja will be done on this day for the elders who have died and ancestors.   • Most of the temples will do a special pooja on this Muhurtham. The people who finish leaving the tharpanam will go to the temple. The pilgrims can go the home and then do the pooja at home
