Dussehra Sharannavaratri celebrations will start on 26 September 2022 in Srisailam Maha Kshetra, which is considered the mid place of the earth. In the background of the Sharannavaratra celebrations, all the precincts of the Srisailam temple are brightly lit with electric lamps.
The temple executive officer will enter the temple along with Vedic scholars in the morning from the main gopuram with yellow saffron and flowers. After that, the temple officials said that Ganapati Puja, Swasti Punyahavachana, Diksha Sankalpa, Kankana Puja, Ritvikavaranam, Ammavari Yagashala entry, Akhandadeepapshalam, Mandaparadhana and other pujas will be performed.

  • Entry into the Yagashala of Swami’s temple, Shiva Sankalpa, Ganapati Puja, Chandiswara Puja, Vastu Puja, installation of Rudrakalasa, grand Rudrabhishekam to Swami will take place.
  • Purnananda worshipers said that after mid-day Kaalarchana, Sahasra Namarchana, Maha Nivedana, Japanushtanas, Ankurarpana, Agnipratistapana, Navavarchana, Kumkumarchana, Rudrahomam and Chandihoma will be done in the evening.
  • In the evening special decorative pujas will be performed to the Utsavamurthys in the decorative mandapam and after the village festival, the Navratri mahotsav will be held on the first day with Suvasini Puja and Kalaratri Puja.

On Monday, Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamiammavarlu will ride the Bhringi Vahanam in the village festival. The temple authorities expect a large number of devotees to participate in the Gramotsavam to see Bhramari Amma, who appears as Shailaputri.
