Special Sahasra Kalasabhishekam at Tirumala – A Sacred Offering to Bhoga Srinivasa

On the sacred occasion of the consecration of the Kautuka Beram – Bhoga Srinivasa Murthy, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) conducted a Special Sahasra Kalasabhishekam ritual on Sunday, June 2, 2025, in Ekantam (private without public participation) at the Garudalwar Sannidhi inside the Tirumala temple.

The ritual was performed as a symbolic offering to Bhoga Srinivasa Murthy, also known as Manavala Perumal, in the presence of other Utsava Murthies.

All these deities were placed facing each other, and a holy thread was tied from Bhoga Srinivasa Murthy to the Mula Virat, symbolically linking the Kalasabhishekam to the presiding deity.


Importance of Bhoga Srinivasa Murthy (Manavala Perumal)

This 18-inch silver idol is a Kautuka Beram, gifted in the 7th Century AD by Pallava queen Sri Perundevi (Samavai). It is an exact replica of Lord Venkateswara and holds high spiritual significance.

About Sahasra Kalasabhishekam

Sahasra Kalasabhishekam means “offering of 1000 sacred vessels” filled with holy water, herbs, and other purifying items, poured over the deities while chanting Vedic hymns by temple priests.

This special version was performed as a tribute to the spiritual bond between Bhoga Srinivasa and the Mula Virat (main deity), signifying unity and divine continuity.
