Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swami Temple Tirumala History

Sri Bedi Anjaneya swami temple is the temple of Lord Sri Hanuman, which is located exactly before the Srivari Temple in Tirumala. The history of this temple dates back to early eras. The story around this temple is like: Once Lord Hanuman wants to go hunting for a camel and Anjana Devi who is mother of Lord Hanuman want to stop him and locks him up with Bedi (Cuffs) and vows not to leave until she returns. But she stays near Akasha Ganga and never returns to check her son. Binding to the promise made my him to her mother, Lord Hanuman stays at the very place with the cuffs still to his hands. One can see the cuffs that has been bounded to his hands. It is said that one who visits his temple and have darshan will be relieved from the problems which torment them.

The temple here in which Anjaneya Swami is residing is constructed in the time of Mahants and has a very long history which has been constructed as per the Vaishnava principles.

This temple is located exactly before the temple of Lord Sri Venkateswara, just before the Mahadwaram and before the Asthana Mandapam and beside the Akhilandam where people offer Ghee Lamps and Coconuts and exactly in Sannidhi Street. It can eb reached by walk from Srivari temple in a couple of minutes. It is said that either Garuda or Lord Hanuma statue should be before the temple of Lord Sri Venkateswara and Tirumala Temple is only temple which has both Garuda and Lord Hanuma before the temple, guarding it.

Rituals and Pooja Timings of Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swami Temple Tirumala

The temple open at 06.00 AM in the morning and closes at 06.00 PM in the evening. Tuesdays and Sundays are very special and special rituals will be carried out on these days. On Sundays a special Palabhishekam (Milk) will be held in this temple. The Naivedyam which is offered in the temple of Lord Sri Venkateswara and also in the temple of Lord Sri Varahaswamy is brought here and is offered here as well. Hanuma Jayanti is celebrated in huge and special level in this temple. Pilgrims whoever visits Tirumala marks their pilgrimage completion only after completing their visit to Sri Bedi Anajaneya Swami Temple.
