Tirumala Tirupati Darshan Ticket Counters

Shiva Venkateswara Feb 19, 2019 Updated Jul 7, 2026 5 min read

Where are the darshan ticket counters in Tirumala and Tirupati?

If you reach Tirupati without an online booking, you can still get a same-day
darshan ticket or token from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) counters
spread across both the lower town (Tirupati) and the hill (Tirumala). These
physical counters are commonly called the
“current booking” counters. They issue free Sarva Darshan
(SSD) tokens, Divya Darshan (walking) tokens, and certain seva tickets, while
the paid ₹300 Special Entry Darshan is sold only online through TTD’s
official portal. This guide maps the main counter locations, explains what
each issues, and lists typical timings — always cross-check the live position
on the official TTD portal before you travel, because quotas and timings shift
with crowd levels and festivals.

Ticket counter locations at a glance

The counters are concentrated in TTD’s large pilgrim-amenity complexes near
the Tirupati bus stand and railway station, at Alipiri (the foot of the hill),
and at several points on Tirumala itself. The table below lists the widely
reported counter clusters. Counter numbers are indicative and TTD adds or
reduces windows depending on the day’s rush.

What each type of counter issues

Sarva Darshan (free) SSD tokens

Sarva Darshan is TTD’s free darshan of Lord Venkateswara, offered through the
Vaikuntham Queue Complex. To manage crowds, TTD runs a
Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) token system: pilgrims collect a
time-slot token from a counter in Tirupati and then report to the queue
complex at the printed time. SSD tokens are typically issued at
Srinivasam, Vishnu Nivasam and Bhudevi Complex in Tirupati,
and TTD has at times operated 30 or more counters across these points during
heavy-footfall periods. A valid government photo ID (Aadhaar, driving licence,
voter card or passport) and biometric capture are required per person.

Divya Darshan (walking) tokens

Pilgrims who climb to Tirumala on foot via the Alipiri or Srivari Mettu paths
are eligible for Divya Darshan. Tokens are issued along the footpaths and at
the Bhudevi Complex for Alipiri trekkers, giving climbers a dedicated, faster
darshan channel as a recognition of the traditional walk up the seven hills.

₹300 Special Entry Darshan — online only

The paid ₹300 Special Entry Darshan (Seegra/Seeghra Darshan) is
not sold at walk-in counters. TTD releases this quota online
in advance and it must be booked on the official portal. Ticket holders report
at the ATC car-parking area at Tirumala at their booked slot; each ticket
usually includes one laddu prasadam. These tickets are non-transferable and
non-cancellable, so book only through the official TTD portal.

Arjitha seva and accommodation

Arjitha sevas (paid rituals such as certain archanas and abhishekams) and TTD
accommodation are handled through the
CRO (Central Reception Office) at Tirumala and the DIP
(Dial-in-Programme) system, in addition to the online portal. If a seva quota
remains after online allotment, a limited number may be released at the CRO —
confirm the day’s position at the office or online.

Typical counter timings

Most current-booking and token counters operate through the day, commonly
reported as around 9 AM to 5 PM, with hours extended during
festivals, Vaikuntha Ekadasi, Brahmotsavam and long weekends. SSD tokens,
however, are released in batches at fixed times set by TTD for each day, and
they can run out quickly on busy days. Because these windows are
demand-driven, treat any timing as indicative and verify the current schedule
on the official portal or on-site notice boards.

How to plan your counter visit

Carry the original photo ID for every member of your group, including children
where required, since biometric capture is linked to the ID. Reach the token
counters early in the day, as free SSD slots for the same day are limited and
are given first-come-first-served once a batch is released. If you have
mobility constraints, TTD operates separate assistance for senior citizens,
differently-abled pilgrims and infants-in-arms — ask at the CRO or the help
desks in the complexes. Keep some buffer time between collecting a token and
your reporting slot, and follow the printed reporting time strictly, as late
arrival can forfeit the slot.
