Special Darshan iin Tirumala is one of the most successful Darshan type and also most chose Darshan type by the pilgrims. The reason behind the success of the Rs. 300 is this Darshan provides a time slot for pilgrims to report and there will no waiting at the reporting point. The Special Darshan can be booked from many post offices in the country. Pilgrims who wants to book Special darshan have to visit  60 days before the darshan to post office and can book the darshan. Based on the quota availability, the post office issues the tickets. The can be purchased by paying the amount at the Post office itself. Pilgrim has to carry the ID cards of all the pilgrims while booking for the special darshan.
